English Pop Music in SpanishWhat’s better than taking songs that your students already know and enjoy in English and listening to the Spanish version? Your students will be fascinated listening to the Spanish version of Taylor Swift’s Shake it Off or other current popular songs complete with written lyrics!
The best part is that they have previous knowledge of the song, so the song is comprehensible. Although, it can also be a discussion of how the song is not a 100% word for word translation. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcpP3IUb-LVxGmXRmPPYoaEj88HOs5ETe |

German
Deutsch – warum nicht?Warum Night? is the most extensive program for beginners. Roughly 26 hours long, the series hits all the expected grammar and vocabulary points. But it does it through a kooky cast of characters, led by X, an invisible woman. She has a cartoonish, high-pitched voice and a creepy crush on Andreas, the main character in the series. She’s constantly nagging him to be her boyfriend. It’s probably best that Andreas never takes the bait, but X hovers through the series to keep things weird.

Slow German PodcastsFor the absolute beginner, there are podcasts conducted in English which provide a gentle introduction to key German words. They’re usually directed to help you navigate specific situations, such as ordering in a restaurant. For the intermediate learner, Annik narrates totally in German but at a relatively slowed-down pace. You’ll get the full effect without struggling to keep up! This gives the student the opportunity to hear every syllable clearly and follow what’s being said. A transcript in German of each podcast is provided.
